6 Squadron News – December 2016

After a busy summer based in Cyprus on Operation Shader, 6 Sqn expected a quiet time back at base, but it was not to be. With the two sister Typhoon squadrons away on deployment, 6 Sqn was left to pick up the slack. This meant extra QRA, plus ongoing support to the many exercises. The Squadron was particularly busy during the period when the Russian carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” was heading South through the North Sea and the Channel. There was still time for some relaxation, and Sqn personnel were able to enjoy white water rafting, fishing, and other activities, all generously funded by the Mercer’s Livery Company to whom they are affiliated.
