Thirteen Association members took part in the Cenotaph Parade on 13th November 2016, including Flt Lt Freddie Nicoll DFC, one of our oldest members at 96 years of age. The weather was once again kind, with scattered clouds, light winds and a temperature of 10 deg C. The BBC even featured a brief glimpse of us during the 2 minutes silence.
After the parade, we made our way to the RAF Club, and the AGM then got underway, followed by the reunion lunch with 32 members attending. The new Boss, Wg Cdr Billy Cooper was present, having just completed handover from Wg Cdr Jim Walls 4 days before.
Also present was the Squadron “Uncle”, who had just returned from France, having represented the Squadron at a memorial service to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Lanoe Hawker VC. He gave a 15 minute update on recent Squadron events, which again underlined how busy the Squadron is now, both on operations and in training.
